How we tested
- Each test sent the same request three ways: with Deft, with the best free skill we found for this job, and with no skill at all.
- The judges were AI agents, not people. They saw the three results as A, B and C with every skill name removed, and scored five qualities out of 10 each, 50 in all.
- The quality scores at the top are averaged over the tests and rounded.
- How we picked the free skill: our study's pick of the free SEO skills (rated 4 of 5, about 20,000 GitHub stars), run at full strength: its skill text, sub-skills, agents and any of its scripts that run with what was already installed; no installs and no paid add-ons.
- The businesses are made up. Each result is that version’s own work, unedited, from the request shown.
The work
A shop’s product page
The requestWhen people search for our Ridgeline jacket, other shops show up with the price, stock and stars right in Google, and we just get a plain blue link. Can you fix our product page so Google shows those too?
The blind judge’s reasons
Deft was the only complete fix: product, shipping and returns data, the canonical, share tags, the main photo in the first HTML, the account pages kept out of Google, robots.txt and a sitemap. It left out the unsourced "4.6 from 128" stars and asked the owner where the 128 come from. The no-skill version and the free skill added correct price and stock data but marked up 4.6 from 128 reviews when six are on the page, and did none of the crawl work; the free skill also gave 1 to 4 delivery days where the owner says 2 to 4, and wrote 841 words with no report file.

A dental clinic website
The requestOur clinic's new site went live five weeks ago. Google still shows our old site, and when I search "Osa Dental Tampere" I only see something called "Create Next App". My nephew made it with v0. Can you sort out whatever is wrong?
The blind judge’s reasons
Deft came first: it fixed every planted problem without touching the content or packages, explained the kept FAQ markup, gave curl checks and Bing, and left a real report file, with a reply under 500 words. It handed the security update on instead of doing it. The free skill fixed as much, plus a small security patch, but never mentioned the FAQ markup, left no report file and wrote about 960 words; the no-skill version made the same core fixes with the same gaps, the longest reply (about 980 words) and a site icon the owner never gave.

A yoga studio website
The requestWe opened Havn Yoga in Nørrebro in August and built the site ourselves with an AI builder. If I search for our name on Google, we're not there, and the one time I saw us the title just said "Vite + React + TS". Can you fix it so people can find us?
The blind judge’s reasons
All three did the same core fix: six pages with their own titles and text in the HTML, a real 404, the netlify.app redirect, robots.txt and a sitemap, no fake rating and the right phone and address. Deft was the only one that proves its work, with a report listing every problem, the change and a before-and-after table, and the site otherwise unchanged. The no-skill version kept the site just as faithfully and wrote the friendliest reply, but left no report and ran to about 900 words; the free skill added sections the owner never wrote and a reply of about 1,150 words.
